November Chores

November leaves which is what I had to rake
I had to hurry up for goodness sake
All I wanted to do was go out with my friends
But I had to wash my father's Mercedes Benz.

Washing cars and taking care of the lawn were my tasks
Oh how long will this hard work and misery last
The wind pressed against my cold sweat
My day was closing fast and the sky turned into a sunset

My friends kept calling me over and over again
The pile of leaves were as big as NFL linemen
My chores were just about done
And I was ready to have some fun

I grabbed my cell phone and keys
And read a text that my friends and I were going to play ultimate Frisbee
This was a very productive day
I'm glad that now I can relax and play.

October: Concert

MGK and Meek Mill were only a line away.
Hundreds of people lined up to this dynamic pair.
My friends and I waited forever for this day.
This concert was going to be a fun affair.

We entered the Teaneck Armory
Fans crowded and surrounded the stage.
MGK appreciated the fans' flattery.
and he began to rap his music and the fans were engaged.

I'ma wild boy echoed the venue
The crowd became rowdy and insane.
The volume of the music was not an issue.
Balloons began to fall from the sky as if it were rain.

The night began to close.
The concert was just about done.
Everyone in the crowd arose.
My friends and I had a lot of fun.

September: The Last Day of Summer

"I must make the last day of summer an unforgettable ride,"
I remember saying to myself.
I took my keys, a light coat, and headed outside.
My freshly finished summer work was on the shelf
And I was ready to enjoy my last day summer

The step outside was a breath of fresh air.
I opened the door to my car and pushed in the clutch.
I reversed the dragon outside its lair
and headed toward a midnight lunch.

Chicken and rice was the goal
and I was determined to finish this food quest.
My friend accompanied me on my late night stroll.
In twenty short minutes, we were at the cart that was better than the rest.

The city lights blinded me as the chef took my order
and I waited patiently for my juicy succulent chicken.
Leaning on a sign that said do not loiter
I ate without a moment of hesitation.

The drive home was filled with good feelings
and the lights of the George Washington Bridge were more beautiful than ever.
Life at that time had no ceilings.
The night before school couldn't have been better.
